Husband and wife team Randy and Sandy Workman opened the doors of Pine Needles in August of 1996. The shop was a 1000 square foot historic home situated along the quaint paths surrounding Gardner Village. Sandy has always been very creative and opening the store was a dream come true. She started out working seven days a week as the only store employee and now gratefully shares the duties of the store with fifteen wonderful family and friends.
What began as a small cross stich store rapidly grew and the original shop was just too small to encompass the ever growing inventory. In 2003 Pine Needles moved to a beautiful 1800 square foot shop just across the pond in the Gardner Village. Shoppers young and young at heart love to pause outside the door and feed the fish in the pond or ducks that rest along its banks.
Pine Needles is now proud to carry all the wonderful necessities for quilting, cross stitch, primitive embroidery and Russian punch needle. Many of the items we offer are by local artisans whose work appeals to shoppers and tourists alike. Our walls are brimming with the promise of projects to be done. Be sure to check our website often as we will be expanding our online inventory just as quickly as we can.
